Why X53 Exists

X53 Studios was born from frustration and a personal gamble.

After years of watching mainstream comics drift further from what made the medium great — real danger, genuine consequence, characters who feel alive rather than focus-grouped — I decided to stop waiting for someone else to fix it.

The name says everything. X for the unknown. 53 for the age it all began. Personal savings. No safety net. No corporate backing. No guarantee it would work.

Five years later, five original series. Thousands of readers across Kickstarter and Indiegogo. And not a single story told by committee.

What We Make

X53 Studios publishes original, creator-owned comics drawn from the full tradition of pulp storytelling — the danger of classic pulp magazines, the attitude of bronze age comics, the raw energy of grindhouse cinema.
